Inventing names for Sci-Fi characters I call this a dupe: writers.stackexchange.com/questions/138/… |

Peeking through character's mask Make sure you do not get trapped by cliches. Your protagonists sounds much too depressed. You either write a satire (like Allen and Chaplin did) or your protag needs a psychiatrist just for open the door, not speaking of getting outside. |

Looking for some tips on how to improve writing Welcome to Writers.SE. I have to mention that we are not a discussion forum. Your questions are much too broad. We prefer one question per question, with a defined, specific topic (i.e. answerable). Look at our critique guidelines: meta.writers.stackexchange.com/questions/166/… - meta.writers.stackexchange.com/questions/488/… |

Using Documentary For Inspiration First: Your question lacks formatting. I can fix that. Second: Your question lacks clarity. Could you fix that please before I fix the formatting? What does "Is their the elements of a fiction story in a documentary I can use as well as inspiration" mean? Are you asking how to get inspired or how to research or how to start writing or what? |

How can I help a writing-phobic but competent student develop their writing? If I had known earlier how inspiring dragons can be. I suspected you would put your comment from above into your answer. But +1 anyway ;) |

How many errors per page volume is typically “okay” in a book? Are you kidding us, @Standback? How should this question ever get different answers than the other question? No matter how many proofreaders were involved. This is a dupe. |

Does stilted english means that the writer is dumb in using the langauge? Speaking about using the English language: "stilted" and "silted" mean two different things. |

How can I write anonymously (based on true experiences)? I'm not sure if I understand this correctly. If you use a pen name, no-one buying the book will know that you are the real author. The only persons are the ones working for your publisher, because you sign contracts with your real name. Is that a problem for you? Do you also want to stay anonymous to the publisher? |

Is the ambiguity in my story the salt which makes it tasty or just plain frustrating? Thanks, @Lauren, though I thought it's a little bit lengthy. But well, you cannot get them all ... :) |
