Maybe that teach you something, maybe not. If not, you can still use the foolproof way of writing: write, write, write, read tons and tons and tons, write, write, and write!

Jan 21	comment	What's a good way to backup your writing? See, @sjohnston, here you have the problem: if you want any benefit from a version control system, then you have to back it up! The scenario you described is doomed. And Non-Techies (our normal audience here), read it and think: "Wow, I just use a version control system and then I do not need a backup." And that's wrong! You need a backup of your version control. It is not the backup.
