comment Write to the finish, or edit as you go?
You do not have to write novels to write about novels. Almost tl;dr but I build my bridge through your text ;) +1

comment Sending a children's book manuscript to an agent or publisher with illustrations
@Standback: Call agents, of course not for asking the status, but for the first contact. Many agents prefer this method (at least here in Germany). They can dismiss easily manuscripts they would never look at anyway and you can clear question like the OP has. Better than having hundreds of manuscripts in the mail which are of a field they do not cover.

comment What are the advantages and disadvantages of digital rights management for self-published authors?
@Standback: They will tell you that it depends. Different audiences have different attitudes. Maybe books can help to figure out your customers. But it comes down to "knowing your audience" and probably no-one can tell about your audience, because they all, well, differ. And iffy is every endeavour. Try, fail and become better or let others win.

comment Does it look unprofessional to have my name and all the titles of my website in lower-case?
Voted to close as off-topic. We are not a design community. Besides that I think the lower-case "alex chen" next to the circle is a good choice. "about", "contact" and "services" could be upper-case, but they need not. What hit my eyes is the lower-case "hi, there", no punctuation after "there" and an upper-case "My name ..." in the next row. Looks awful.
