comment What existing platforms use crowdsourcing to develop creative writing and editing?
They saying about monkeys and Hamlet is a visualization of probability and statistics, not a statement about writing qualities.

comment Should I prefer writing a Hard diary or Soft diary?
It's not clear what you mean with Hard or Soft diary. I assume from your question, that you ask if you keep your diary on paper or as software. But it isn't completely clear and you might want to edit your question, so that it is easy to understand.

I was a little astonished to see L. Ron Hubbard all over the page, but right, he was also an author. The contest seems unrelated to Scientology.

Great text. Thank you for the find. And you get the good feeling, that the man who wrote this already has written novels with some success. :-)

comment When and how often edit the style and content of a story?
I accepted this answer, because of the hint to use a revision-control - that could help the problem a little bit. At least I can easily switch back, if I decide later to do so.

comment How Much Can You Make From Writing a Book?
I don't know the exact numbers for the cases you presented, but generally: If you don't write a bestseller, don't expect to get rich from writing. And not much people write bestseller. You should write, because you have something to tell, not for the money. And if you're lucky, many people are interested and buy your book.
