Hi. As you may have gathered, my name is Dan. I'd class myself as a Multimedia & Web Developer as I have a strong interest in both fields. I enjoy coding in ActionScript 3.0, Objective-C, PHP, HTML, JQuery and CSS.

Trying to indicate that the frequency is annoying the "top 40 pop song" example should have ended before the parentheses. |

How many words/hour should you aim for when writing your first draft? @Ralph I think the question is not subjective. Craig Sefton's answer would be the perfect answer for this question, and I think writing speed is something a lot of people worry about, even if everyone writes at their own speed. This question stands well. |

Does my first paragraph grab your attention? okay maybe job interview was off the mark, but you do go from having no setting at all, to a beach setting pretty quickly. Introduce the beach slowly |

Does my first paragraph grab your attention? I agree with JSBangs the change in setting was strange, for some reason it gave me the impression of a job-interview and then -bang- your at the beach. |

How do I better handle my nameless main character when trying to retain mystery? that is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for, thanks alot man! I'll jump into this story again soon, perhaps re-write it with this new information. The issue of the first person writing though, if he does not run into any people who use his name or he never refers to himself by name, then it's possible that the reader may not know that the name is being withheld, I would want them to know, as I'd be endeavouring to get them to try and learn more about him, you know what I mean? Cheers for your help though |
