Yeah, there's plenty of precedent for this. Captain Nemo (literally "nobody"), Clint Eastwood's character in the "Dollars" trilogy.

I think it's a good story. There are some other websites where you could post it and maybe get critiques. Try Google "writing critique." But I think it's a good story and I like the style of the writing.
