Is there a style / terminology guide for Android OS application documentation? Thanks! I missed that and, yes, it's helpful. Next time somebody tells me that their stuffy corporate jargon looks more "professional" I can point them to this style-guide. |

Why are some words in screenplays set in all caps? Who's Kata Stanic? |

Is there a style / terminology guide for Android OS application documentation? That's right. And do you say "Settings", "Options" or ... something else? Is it the "screen" or the "display"? What should I call that bar that's always at the top of the screen? In the end, I solved my problem by downloading the Android User Manual and just copying the terminology (and style) from there. |

How can a new writer make a realistic estimate of his work rate? Yeah, that's a good rule of thumb. It also means this project is screwed. :-( Hofstadter's Law: It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take Hofstadter's Law into account. |

Deaf speechmarks? Science fiction authors deal with unusual forms of communication (e.g. telepathy) all the time. They usually handle it by using italics. |

How can a new writer make a realistic estimate of his work rate? Thanks! Yes, it has a lot in common with “porting” tasks. :-) |

How can a new writer make a realistic estimate of his work rate? Good point about communication issues! I'm likely to be working with some very busy people, who view my questions as a low priority. And, yes, Android does have a few quirks. :-) They've given me an Android phone to play with for now, which helps. |

How can a new writer make a realistic estimate of his work rate? I forgot to mention: I'm in Japan, so there are no timezone issues. |

Habits and routines for my first tech writing job @NeilFein Thank you for the feedback, and I understand why you closed the question. I’ve rewritten it to be less gushy and excitable and more focussed. |

Habits and routines for my first tech writing job Complete rewrite. Less excitable prose, and focussed on two specific questions instead of seeking general advice. |
