What's a normal word count for a children's novel or collection? I don't believe Harry Potter was classified as a really good story. |

Ideal blog post size and frequency I do think that there are some golden rules in pro-blogging, and that experienced bloggers here might be able to give that range from their experience, regardless of genre. It's more a question of human attention span and reader engagement. |

Ideal blog post size and frequency I was hoping for a ballpark figure. See this question on chapter length for instance, I think chapters would better translate into blog posts. So asking the word count for a novel (or short-story) would be more like asking 'how long should a blog post series be?'--to which the answer of course is as long as it needs to be. |

What are the first things I should do with an idea? I think the better method here would be to have the notebook be just a quick-jot down medium, and transcript the notes to some organizing software on a computer (e.g. Onenote or one specific for writers) so that your notes will be actually useful by being reachable when you finally need them. |

Dedicated micro website Well, so it seems to me he started the blogspot as a personal project and then "sold" it to his subsequent employer (HitFix), putting his own personal brand under the companies' brand. Seems to me he's just rolling along with where his career takes him. If that's his tick, great, but I'd have preferred more control over my personal brand and expertise. |

Dedicated micro website It seems to me that his four subquestions are all "Should I's". But indeed, if he goes on to need advice on how, I agree possibly StackOverflow would be the place, not here. |

Dedicated micro website Also, the fact that he made the jump from blogspot to own domain points to a lack of strategy to start with. This change costs any reputable blog a lot of traffic, when you change domains you start anew with Search Engine Marketing (i.e. how you place on google searches). |

Dedicated micro website Well some people can indeed get away with it! It's like a highly renowned business man (or the owner of a company), he can attend a meeting dressed casually if he likes. But any other would do himself a favor to dress up and dress well. |
