I am a user experience designer, technical author and help strategist based in London, UK. I specialize in web form design and developing strong visual semantics.
My work has been used by Tesco, various social care agencies and the UK's first fully online 'timebank'. I am currently working as a UX designer for Rightmove.

Advice on interface text in a videogame Probably the former, but it is never defined either in the game or in any surrounding documentation. It's called MP, and nothing else. |

Technical Writing Software You could use DITA or Docbook schemas, or another off-the-peg solution. As for CSS, it's fairly straightforward to learn, ad will stand you in good stead for any other web content you might work on (which could be a lot). Alternatively, a web designer or CSS-savvy friend might be very willing to help. |

Advice on interface text in a videogame "[X] cannot afford chosen move" wouldn't be a bad one. Also, the subject is an 'it' because it might be a battle monster rather than a player character that has run out of MP (the game calls the same message for both situations) |

Advice on interface text in a videogame Note: The only variable we can call is the caster's name. It's an unfortunate limitation, but one we couldn't overcome without considerable work. |

Advice on interface text in a videogame Alas, we can't call the string for MP cost, ability title or anything except the caster's name |

Advice on interface text in a videogame Can't do maths beyond call variable strings, unfortunately. |
