How to come up with a good title? That's what I expected to happen, but didn't :) |

1st person story, but the main character will die in the end and some of the story needs to be told after his death. How to solve this problem? Mods, could you please explain why my answer was turned into a comment on the basis of "not being an actual answer"? Was it because I wrote "Can you switch to 3rd person in an epilogue?" instead of "Consider switching to 3rd person in an epilogue, if applies to your case"? I have a big WTF sign over my head right now. |

Do the characters in the following dialogue sound the same? BTW, "quite sure" |

Using dashes in writing dialogue If you write in English, by all means. If you write in Spanish (as I do), quote marks would make readers' eyes bleed :) It's a matter of habit and I respect that; if/when I make an English translation, it will definitely use quotes. |

How applicable are screenwriting ideas to novels? You're absolutely correct, of course; these 35K words cover roughly half of the 12-page outline I spent two years planning carefully, so that thing may be half a novel. On an unrelated topic, I'm sure it would be truly enlightening to know your thoughts about the question I posed above, should you be so kind to share them. |

Problems with character development? I see your point, but I'd say it's about what happens to people and how people react, otherwise what I'd have is a nice set of interesting biographies :) I tend to think that it's the structure that can provide ways for the characters to be interesting (unusual situations, plot twists,...) |
