comment Omitting “that” in fiction writing
I think not- I always add a 'that' in cases like this. But I'll wait to see what the Masters say :)

comment Does this passage break the rules of telling and not showing?
Agree with @Singular1ty. The passage is fine, and in line with what I'd expect from a 1st person. It isn't slow or boring, & that's more important

comment Is there a good project management software for writers?
I am protecting this question, as we're getting too many "This is my favourite PM software", with no reference to if it's useful for writers

comment Why can't I write something longer than a few pages?
Awesome. Only thing I'll add is: Expect to suck in the beginning, but finish everything all the same. Finish means, good enough to send to a publisher. You can't learn unless you go through these beginner pains

The case was a victory from a fair use, as the Rowling's original claim was that no one could create anything based on the HP universe without her permission. The Lexicon authors lost because they had gone too far, not because of fair use, which I believe was your question.

comment Where do I fit in the future of publishing?
You need to rewrite the question: What degree you have, what interests you have, what sort of job you want. That's it. as it is, I can't make head or tails of your question

You had to pay to get your book published? How is that not vanity published? If you own the copyrights, you can do anything you want

@JaveerBaker it is recommended, as many people still prefer print books. Creating a print book isn't that hard, and I suggest you do it
