comment Is this a sound outline for an essay on “Comparing a Song's Lyrics to Society”?
Welcome. If this isn't homework feel free to retag, but if it is please leave the tag so that our community knows to answer this in a way that helps without doing your work for you.

This may actually be a better question for SuperUser, although it is possibly on-topic here.

comment Am I too prepared to do NaNoWriMo?
What NaNoWriMo will force you to do is take a step back from planning and actually write. It's easy to get stuck in the trap of endless planning. This will make you actually get the story down, even if it's, as someone once said, a "*****-y first draft."

comment What are useful resources for a beginner whose eventual goal is to write a novel?
@AdamJ.Forster - this has been closed, but please ask another one that focuses on your real question: What are resources which will teach me how to build a plot from setting ideas?

comment Less universe-specific synonyms for “squib”?
This seems like it might be a better fit on English, where word choice is on-topic.

comment What are useful resources for a beginner whose eventual goal is to write a novel?
@AdamJ.Forster - it would be helpful if you would focus your question to be more specific, because as it reads it seems like a broad question that does indeed cover the ground of the questions Standback mentioned. If you are looking for SFF-specific sources, please say so. If you don't edit, this will be closed as a duplicate.

@NeilFein - do you have a suggestion for the OP for tightening it? I believe someone, the OP or otherwise, could edit it to clean it up.

comment How do I successfully structure a long fiction piece?
the terms of use of the StackExchange sites specifically allow editing (a cc-wiki license that requires attribution) . By posting here you agree. You cannot post here without agreeing. Most think it makes the community better. You'll notice that edits are kept track of so those who are interested can see who added, deleted, or changed what text.

comment How much outlining should I use in writing my book?
@MatthewPaulChapdelaine - as a vague and generic question, yes. As part of explaining what you want, no, if that makes sense. Your original question just asked for general pros and cons. The evolved form asks for the pros and cons for you, in the context of your writing. If you have further questions, we can discuss in chat.

@LarrySmithmier - now this is a novel I want to see in December.

comment How much outlining should I use in writing my book?
@MatthewPaulChapdelaine - in general "pros and cons" questions are a very bad fit for Q&A as they are extremely "discussiony." A slightly better way to phrase it is - "When or why would I use stream of consciousness over outlining or vice versa?" Even better would be "I have these goals for my writing? Which technique should I use and why?"

comment Good examples of fear/terror inducing techniques used with enemies
Note that this site does not allow specialist knowledge questions, which this veers awfully close to, so don't expect details on neo-Nazis and Apaches. Also, more information on the writing goals you have for this fear will help answerers give you better answers.

'This or that' questions generally do not fit in a Stack Exchange format all that well. Asking about the pros and cons of each with relation to productivity might be a better question, if you edit this one. If you want this answered for you, think about what an answer needs to contain to be helpful and write a question to get that answer.
