comment What factors to consider when choosing an e-book platform?
Re #2: I've bought individual stories published though Smashwords. If you want somebody else (like Amazon) to broker sales for you, that might come with length requirements (don't know).

comment Forming a tagline for customers, drivers and software
@Siddharth, since the question already has an answer we're not supposed to delete, but you can disassociate it from your account if you want. If you do that, you'll have no further ownership of the question. Use the "contact" link at the bottom of the page; that's something that has to be done by SE staff (mods can't do it).

comment Do publishers really need to translate between UK and US English?
Good question. It might depend in part on the prevalence of country-specific words and target audience. For example, I wouldn't expect anybody to really be bothered by colour and theatre, but young-adult readers might not know boot, getting p-ssed, and so forth. (On the other hand, kids these days are probably more worldly than we were when I was their age, thanks to the internet...)

comment How does one involve people in writing non-fiction?
Welcome to Writers.SE. Why do you think people aren't interested in writing that isn't about people? Doesn't practically any science text, for example, serve as a counter-example?

Other mild exclamations: "argh!", "gah!" (mentioned in another answer), and "oy!".

comment How many words in 350 pages typed and double spaced?
Is the question "how many words are in this page count?", per the title, or "how long is an epic?", per the comments? These are different questions. (For the first, you can answer it yourself since you already have a sample -- count a few pages an take an average.)

comment How do I quote a song from Youtube? MLA format
When you say "quote", I assume you mean quote lyrics from the performance? It seems like that would be the same as quoting from any other recording; I wonder what precedents exist for radio, TV, published recordings, etc.

comment My Reviews for Free Books?
@LindsayTampaBay, not meant to be; please bear with us. Your question is a good one; list questions don't work well on SE, but changing to "how can I find" -- strategy, not specific outcome -- addresses that, and may bring in other factors that a list question would miss. Anyway, welcome, and I hope we're able to help you!

comment Is it possible my book could be taken off-line for sale if there is a cease and desist letter?
I think this depends on who's hosting it. A small ISP will probably take it down to avoid an expensive lawsuit; a big publisher might not. You might need to read your publisher's/host's terms of service to be able to answer this.

comment Chopped sentences with too many conjunction, and repeating the subject again and again
@Fortiter I think literary novels and news reports are pretty different from each other, and screenwriting probably falls in between. (News cares more about conveying information effectively than writing good descriptive prose -- 5Ws, inverted pyramid, etc). But please do ask related questions!

@NeilFein, I had the same reaction -- it's a more-general question with a helpful example. user5126, in the future you might want to use two or three examples of a problem you're trying to solve, to give us more to work with and to make the general problem more clear.
