A little bit of coding, a little bit of writing, a little bit of smoking and a little bit of staring at the sky and wondering "What the hell is wrong with me?"

My first act is lengthy. And I cannot shorten it. Any Suggestions? I'll take a note on that! |

My first act is lengthy. And I cannot shorten it. Any Suggestions? Well, John, Its a light read that I am writing. Because the majority of the youth in my country read lightly cooked up stories. And most of them are campus love stories which has a stereotypical protagonist falling in love with a stereotypical girl and having a stereotypical physical relationship which ends up in a stereotypical happy ending. But my genre is thriller. So I thought of writing a thriller in a light-read fashion which can land me well into the masses. But i do get your point. And I want you to know that it will help me. Thanks! :) |

My first act is lengthy. And I cannot shorten it. Any Suggestions? @Lauren, But that's the problem with me. I just cannot move on to the next chapter until I personally feel that I have written good. And I do regret this bend of my mind. And plus, in light-reads of my country, the wordlimit for a debut author is 50K. So now you can well imagine what kind of a problem this is. |

Does this beginning hook the reader? I'm giving out my thoughts just as a reader and not as a critic; there's a difference. I would definitely read it! |

I cannot determine my Protagonist's work-life. Any help? @Justkt, I understand that and that is the reason i never asked to give me the elaborated view. I asked " guide me as to where can I get an elaborated view". Meaning that i'll find out. Just show me the right way to go which i believe you all always do. Thanks a ton! |

I cannot determine my Protagonist's work-life. Any help? Well, i would love to ask someone directly. But i thought maybe they are too busy and why will someone share their experience with me for my so-called-novel! I even tried to search for a pharma official but then i couldn't find the (if you may call it:)courage to actually go up there and knock the door. But as you guys said, I guess i was thinking the wrong way! |
