A little bit of coding, a little bit of writing, a little bit of smoking and a little bit of staring at the sky and wondering "What the hell is wrong with me?"

Should cliffhangers be used in every chapter? well that's tricky.. I think they are sort of a feeling of surprise + oh-shit situation. |

Should cliffhangers be used in every chapter? My story is in first person.. So It doesn't include intertwined stories.. It is linear and I have only one POVC. |

How do you build good per-book *and* global indexes? Yes, I get the idea. I was Googling DTD's when I stumbled upon docbook. And to my bad luck, I could not find any thing on adding words to only global indexes. But I hope you get the solution on SO. :) |

How do you build good per-book *and* global indexes? Well, I really think that this question can belong to our site. Because essentially, from what I know about coding, Cellio is probably using a 'software' to write. And the 'writing' she is referring to is a technical documentation. And I mean a Huge documentation. So basically, she has posted the question in the right forum. But as Fein said, we do need writers here who are technically sound. |

My first act is lengthy. And I cannot shorten it. Any Suggestions? Well, John, Its a light read that I am writing. Because the majority of the youth in my country read lightly cooked up stories. And most of them are campus love stories which has a stereotypical protagonist falling in love with a stereotypical girl and having a stereotypical physical relationship which ends up in a stereotypical happy ending. But my genre is thriller. So I thought of writing a thriller in a light-read fashion which can land me well into the masses. But i do get your point. And I want you to know that it will help me. Thanks! :) |
