I'm part guitarist, part coder, part writer. I've a tendency towards DIY and an interest in gaming and game development.
English is not my first language, but as good as.
I like communities and community driven projects... that's collective DIY, and I have and interest in that, too.

Are there any free programs for screen writers I'd have loved this answer if the question was someone else's... It's cool having people writing their own solutions to issues we all face... |

How to make easy and fast money selling a short book (which is available for download)? I blame The Sims 3 game for making people believe you can make loads of quick money by writing books. |

Does giving away free stories boost sales? Why the "short-story" tag? It's about marketing and sales, alright, but not the other one. |

What's the benefit of using invented languages in-story? I'm averse to learning a different language in a class environment... what English I know I didn't learn in class, but by listening and imitating; English is not my first language, and as I see so many people failing to learn in class... well, you get me. And I get you too, only I hadn't thought of applying the thought to the context, the conflicts that a language barrier can put not only between our "hero(es)" and their "enemies" or someone they don't know, but among the heroes as well. |

How to describe the point-of-view character without using mirrors I guess in third person you'd jump ahead and describe the character 'as is', not too much hassle. There's a wider variety of ways to do it in third person, such as having someone else 'look at the character and notice something about their appearance'. Christopher Paolini handles third person descriptions really nicely, with a simple technique: his third person is "focused" on a character and reflects their thoughts/feelings/perceptions, as opposed to using a global, all knowing third person perspective. Using that focus, both methods can be used freely. |
