What is a good software tool for thesaurus? @NeilFein: PS: how does this differ from this: writers.stackexchange.com/questions/270/… ? (Consistency?) |

What is a good software tool for thesaurus? @NeilFein: I understand your concern, but in this case must disagree: tools that aid writers would always be relevant, as is the type of tool - what is good for you may not be good for me, so I would like to know what other options there are. Please re-open this question. It can always be changed into a wiki-style to serve as reference. |

Publishing and selling ebooks @NeilFein: thanks for the reminder, I've submitted a request to change this Q into a community wiki - it would serve better & the info pointed to by your link can be worked in. |

What sytles and templates are available to write a brief? @zundarz: Mostly it would depend on the target audience of your report (= brief); if they are your bosses than you should focus on what benefits/caveats you gleaned; if your peers, then short summaries of the various speakers' talks would suffice. Look for templates on 'Reports'. |

What's the best and clearer way of presenting a character description for a novel? In your example you are trying to TELL the reader what the character is like; conventional practice is to rather SHOW the psychology through the actions and reactions in the situations you place the character. Look up Q&A's re show vs tell. |

Give me a complete list of fiction genres @justkt: I just re-read my comment & noticed that the last sentence may go over not as meant: the 'your' refers to the general attitude and not any specific person, apologies for my poor wording. I still do think it is a valid question, and that the answers are helpful and informative. |
